Comparative Literature as a Critical Approach

The International Comparative Literature Association (ICLA)/ Association Internationale de Littérature Comparée (AILC) held its XXth Congress in Paris, between July 18 and July 24, 2013, at the University of Paris-Sorbonne (Paris IV). Investigated through five main topics that structured the sessions, the theme of the Congress was : « Comparative Literature as a Critical Approach».

The Congress, organized with Congress sessions and Group sections, allowed academics from all parts of the world to present their work. Four plenary sessions were given by major speakers (see under "Congress Organization"). Over 1500 participants met and exchanged views and ideas – internationally known academics, experienced as well as younger scholars, and doctoral students.

In order to develop further the investigations conducted in July 2013 during the ICLA Congress, a regular seminar takes place at the University of Paris-Sorbonne (Paris IV).
